About JOY Gospel Radio

JOY Gospel Radio was established as a professional gospel music and ministry radio network on August 31, 2009. Officially, AM-1610 went on the air as an FCC compliant community broadcasting radio station in Daytona Beach, FL on November 24, 2009 serving the Bethune-Cookman University, surrounding residents and businesses.

Currently, JOY Gospel Radio is reaching a diverse humanity; globally; impacting our audience with uplifting music and kingdom biblical teachings. In addition, JOY Gospel Radio is now interacting on several social communities, entities, and broadcasting devices to continue expanding our network globally.

Furthermore, JOY Gospel Radio took broadcasting to the next level by launching its first community FM frequency in Daytona Beach, FL - JOY 97.7 FM. JOY-FM took flight on August 5, 2010. Currently, JOY 97.7 FM covers the B-CU campus, surrounding residents and businesses.

Future locations will be established in the fall/winter 2010 and early 2011.

Audience

Our audience consists of listeners from a variety of age groups from as early as 12 years of age. Currently, over 90% of minority consumers listen to radio every week with an average of 9.5 hours in Urban AC markets. In addition, Daytona Beach, FL is one of the top ranked radio markets throughout the nation.

In conclusion, minority radio has always had the most time spent listening (TSL) while continuing to rise annually.

Programming

We currently serve our listeners in a host of genres, ranging from urban contemporary, worship and praise, Christian rap, traditional black gospel and contemporary Christian music. We also have world renowned preachers of the gospel: Dr. Creflo & Taffi Dollar, Joyce Meyers, Dr. Bill Winston and Apostle Louis Greenup to name a few.

Secondly, JOY Gospel Radio is proud and honored to be apart of the Rejoice Musical Soulfood Network which currently serves America on over 45+ gospel markets making them a leader of gospel programming throughout the United States of America.
